Most Versatile Border Collie

Donated by Ildanach Kennels in memory of “Piper” (AGILE DRAW CD AD JD HXAd HIAs HSBs), whose remarkable career embodied the versatility of the Border Collie. At the 1st Border Collie National, Piper was the only dog to place across every performance discipline offered, a fitting reflection of her ability across multiple areas of the sport. Her achievements were particularly significant in herding. Piper participated in the first Instinct Test, Herding Test and Pre-Trial Test, and the first Course A Sheep, Course A Ducks, Course B Sheep and Course B Ducks trials held in South Australia. She became the first Main Register dog in South Australia to earn a trial-level herding title, the only dog in the state to achieve an Advanced title on ducks, and the first ANKC-registered dog to gain a Course B title in South Australia. Piper finished her career just one qualifying pass short of her Herding Champion title. Accomplished across disciplines while retaining the working ability at the heart of the breed, Piper was an exceptional example of what it means to be a versatile Border Collie. This award is presented in her memory and recognises the dog whose achievements across the National best reflect that same versatility.

Most Versatile Eligibility: Minimum of 2 disciplines across Conformation, Herding, Dances With Dogs, Rally, Obedience and Agility/Jumping/Games. No maximum.
